Why Our Spices Taste Different
For more than two decades, my family has been sourcing, processing and supplying spices to restaurants, retailers and food professionals throughout Turkey. Serander was built on the belief that exceptional flavour begins long before a spice reaches the kitchen.
Many spices lose much of their aroma long before they reach the shelf. Large-scale production and packaging often mean products spend months in factories, warehouses and distribution centres before they are used. Every spice we offer must meet our standards for aroma, flavour, colour, and consistency. We compare batches, evaluate sensory qualities, and only then does a spice become part of the Serander collection. Once approved, it is packed in small batches to help preserve its freshness and character until it reaches your kitchen.
You`ll notice it in the finished product. Our peppercorns are plump and full of aroma, harvested at a stage of full maturity, while products such as pul biber and sumac are carefully processed to achieve a consistent texture without excessive dust or broken material. The result is a difference you can taste. Fresher spices deliver more intensity, more aroma and more depth of flavour. In many dishes, a smaller amount is all you need to achieve a rich and authentic result.
From sourcing and selection to packaging and presentation, every decision is guided by a simple belief: exceptional ingredients deserve exceptional care.
